What a Start!!!
Three races - three different winners. It is, obviously, going to be some whooping Formula 1 season. Ferrari and Mclaren, both, are in neck-to-neck position in the constructor's championships points. And talking about driver's championship there is an interesting tie between Raikkonnen, Alonso and rookie Hamilton. Even the Brazilian Massa is not far behind them at the fourth position. Also mentionable is the performance of BMW team till now. BMW's German drive Hiedfeld is just two points behind Massa. You should expect some surprises in forth-coming races.
Bahrain Grand Prix was the most enthralling and nerve-racking race till now. Felipe Massa maintained his qualifying pole position till he triumphantly crossed the chequered flag. Not far behind him was this year's debutant Lewis Hamilton in silver arrows who gave his best to break Massa during the final laps. It was well evident from gestures of jubilant Brazilian as he managed to maintain the front position at the end of last lap. Raikkonnen maintained the second runner-up position from Malaysian Grand Prix. But I'm sure he is going to show us some fireworks for rest of the season.
Although, it was a disappointing race for Fernando Alonso after his win in Malaysia, but he is the reigning world champion and he won't go down so easily. He is expected to enchant the audience in his home Grand Prix next month. It is a long break for drivers before the Spanish Grand Prix to regain themselves and for teams to take those mighty cars to some higher levels.
Nick Hiedfeld also gave some stunning performance in his BMW, finishing one position ahead of champion Alonso. BMW has shown some remarkable improvement in the cars this year and both of its drivers Hiedfeld and Kubica are fast and in control on the race tracks. With their fourth and sixth positions respectively they have geared BMW team to third position in constructor’s rankings. After BMW is last year champion team Renault and then Toyota. Both of teams are also good and have some brilliant drivers to entertain us for the rest of the season.
I’m excited about rest of the season and unlike other seasons, this time it is hard to guess the champion at this moment. Who is your pick – Alonso, Raikkonnen, Massa or Hamilton? Don’t miss the 2007 Formula 1 season to find out.
